Sheena Matthews

I have taught English/French and University Counselling during my career in Ontario and BC over the past 35 years. My school has been involved in Poetry in Voice for five years. It has been a transformative influence upon the experience of oral poetry in our curriculum 8-12 and has been one more indicator of the array of experiences offered through our department. Everything about Poetry in Voice has been outstanding from the in house experience, to the regional events hosted by Prince of Wales Schoo,l to the experience of taking part in the national finals. The Poetry in Voice organization demonstrates much energy and creativity and continually adds new initiatives. Any school involved with Poetry in Voice will be enriched by the experience. I am always looking for opportunities to collaborate with any school who wishes to embark on poetry writing projects with grade 8 or 9 students.
