Biography

Best-known for writing The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer is widely recognized as the most important writer of the Middle Ages. The Canterbury Tales gives us one of the most complete portraits of the character and concerns of the era and it’s credited as the first example of literary writing in English vernacular.  Chaucer was also a public servant and was the first person buried in the “poet’s corner” of Westminster Abbey.
